Who we are
QuickDock is an independent mobile app that helps you open third-party apps and websites with one tap. Contact for privacy questions: quickdock.support@gmail.com.
Stored on your device — not our servers
Your action buttons and settings stay on this device only. QuickDock does not run a backend service that stores your buttons, phone numbers, messages, places, or preferences. There is no QuickDock account and no QuickDock cloud sync. Data you save remains secure within your device (protected by your phone’s lock and, if you enable it, biometric app lock) until you delete an action, clear app data, or uninstall.
What is saved locally
Examples of data kept in on-device storage: button names, phone numbers, messages, places and coordinates, media or stock links, widget pin preferences, and preferences such as maps and units. A short-lived weather cache may also be kept locally.
Home & Lock Screen widgets
If you add a QuickDock widget to the Home Screen (iOS and Android) or Lock Screen (iOS), the widget extension reads a small on-device snapshot of your saved actions — typically title, subtitle, provider, sort order, and the open URL — via shared app storage (for example an App Group on iOS). That data stays on your device so the widget can show and open your buttons. QuickDock does not upload widget contents to a QuickDock backend. Removing the widget or uninstalling the app clears that shared snapshot with the rest of app data.
Location
With your permission, QuickDock uses precise location while the app is in use to show distance and travel time on home, set “From” on navigate actions, center the map pin, and fetch local weather. If precise location is unavailable, QuickDock may estimate an approximate city using your network (IP) connection so weather can still work. Location is not uploaded to a QuickDock account. You can deny location in system Settings; features that need it will then be limited.
Contacts
Contacts access is optional. When you search or browse contacts while creating Call, WhatsApp, or Message actions, QuickDock reads contacts on your device to help you pick a number. Contact lists are not uploaded to QuickDock servers. Numbers you choose may be stored in the action you save on this device only.
Biometrics
If you turn on biometric lock in Settings, QuickDock uses Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint (via the operating system) to unlock the app. Biometric templates stay with the OS; QuickDock does not store or upload biometric data.
Siri & Shortcuts (iOS)
When you save a button, QuickDock may sync its name and the generated open URL to Apple’s Siri / Shortcuts and Spotlight on your device so you can run actions by voice. Sample buttons are not synced. Those URLs can include details you entered (for example phone numbers or map destinations). This uses Apple system features — not a QuickDock cloud database.
Third-party services
Depending on features you use, QuickDock may send limited data to third-party services over HTTPS to power that feature in the moment (for example weather coordinates to Open-Meteo, IP geolocation for approximate city weather, place search via Apple MapKit / OpenStreetMap Nominatim / optional Google Places, Spotify or Apple Music lookup, Finnhub quotes). Those requests are not used to store your button library on QuickDock servers. Opening a button also launches third-party apps or websites under their own terms and privacy policies.
Analytics & crash reporting
With your acknowledgment of this notice (and unless you turn it off in Settings), QuickDock uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature usage (for example which action types are opened) and to diagnose crashes. Events use non-personal identifiers such as template type and app version — not phone numbers, message text, place names, or button titles. Crash reports may include device/OS technical data. Collection is processed by Google under their terms. You can disable “Share usage & crash data” in Settings at any time.
Advertising & tracking
QuickDock does not include advertising SDKs and does not use the advertising identifier for ads. Analytics is used for product improvement only. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Because storage is on-device, your data remains until you delete the action, clear app data, or uninstall QuickDock.
Your choices
You can deny location or contacts in system Settings, turn biometric lock off, delete individual buttons, or uninstall the app. Because there is no account, access and deletion are performed on your device.
Children
QuickDock is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13.
Trademarks
QuickDock is not affiliated with or endorsed by the third-party brands shown in the app. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used for identification only.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
